KATHMANDU, MAY 18
Photojournalist Purnima Shrestha who made history by becoming the first woman to summit Mt. Everest three times in a single season last year, today scaled Mt Everest for the fifth time.
She reached the summit of the world's highest peak with Satori Adventures this morning, said Rishi Bhandari, Managing Director at Satori Adventures.
Purnima reached the summit point at around 3:37am, Bhandari said. "From Satori, seven foreign climbers and 14 Nepali climbers scaled Mt Everest today," Bhandari informed.
Purnima, who was featured in CNN's 'Extreme Athletes Who Pushed Limits in 2024' list, already climbed Manaslu (twice), Mount Everest (five times), Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu and K2, Bhandari informed.
