Dorchee Sherpa's journey into the world of high-altitude adventure began at the remarkably young age of 12 in 2007.
In 2025, Dorchee led a deeply personal and emotionally charged expedition alongside Michael Kirby, a devoted father on a mission to fulfill a dream: to summit Everest as a birthday gift for his beloved daughter, Winslow.
Under Dorchee's expert leadership, they achieved the summit on May 15, 2025, the exact day of Winslow's 9th birthday - an unforgettable tribute from a father, guided by one of Nepal's most inspiring mountaineers.
Born with an unbreakable spirit and raised among the towering peaks of Nepal, his early fascination with the mountains quickly transformed into a lifelong calling.
By the age of 16, in 2011, Dorchee had already made his mark by successfully summiting Mera Peak (6,476m) - a significant milestone that fueled his passion and set the course for a career in mountaineering. From there, he ventured into more challenging climbs, eventually summiting Mt. Ama Dablam four times, along with several other notable peaks.
Between 2014 and 2017, Dorchee completed the Great Himalayan Trail twice - a testament to his endurance, skill, and deep connection with the mountains that shaped him.
In 2017, Dorchee embarked on the prestigious IFMGA (International Federation of Mountain Guides Association) training course. After three years of rigorous education and training, he became a certified international mountain guide in 2020, joining the elite ranks of world-class mountaineers.
One of Dorchee's most awe-inspiring achievements came in 2023, when he etched his name into mountaineering history by successfully summiting both Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse within just 24 hours. With this extraordinary feat, he became the first climber from the Nepal Scouts and the first from his home district of Bhojpur Municipality to do so - a moment of immense pride for his community and nation.
Dorchee stands today not only as a world-renowned climber and IFMGA guide but also as a symbol of resilience, inspiration, and the limitless heights of human spirit.
