KATHMANDU, MAY 25
Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, has called on ministry officials to intensify preparedness efforts against the spread of diseases, including dengue, in anticipation of the upcoming monsoon season.
During a meeting with heads of various departments and divisions under the ministry to discuss the potential outbreak of monsoon-related diseases, Minister Paudel urged officials to strengthen preventive measures to safeguard public health.
He emphasized the need to launch an anti-mosquito campaign, along with comprehensive planning and the deployment of necessary tools and resources. Urging officials to learn from past shortcomings, the Minister stressed the importance of timely and coordinated action.
Minister Paudel also called for tighter border management in light of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in neighboring India. He underscored the necessity of cooperation and coordination among all three tiers of government to ensure effective disease prevention and control.
Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki stated that a coordination meeting will be convened soon among the federal, provincial, and local governments to plan and implement preventive measures against dengue and other communicable diseases.
