Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli visited the under-construction Tribhuvan University (TU) Cricket Ground in Kirtipur today to assess the ongoing installation of international-standard parapets and floodlights.
Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakashman Singh, and Urban Development Secretary Gopal Prasad Sigdel, PM Oli was briefed by officials on the current status of the project.
It is noteworthy that one of the first decisions taken by PM Oli after assuming office on July 15 was to ensure the completion of parapet and floodlight installation at the stadium within 100 days.
Dissatisfied with the failure to meet the initial deadline, the Prime Minister summoned the concerned authorities and directed them to complete the work within the next two months.
Separate contracts for the installation of parapets and floodlights were awarded on January 3 and 4 of this year, respectively.
