A 65-year-old man died after being struck by lightning in Jayanagar village of Garuda Municipality, Rautahat, on Sunday morning.
According to the District Police Office, Rautahat, the deceased has been identified as Siyaram Baniya of Garuda Municipality-1. He was struck by lightning at around 8:15 am while untying a goat outside his house following rainfall.
Seriously injured in the incident, Baniya was rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur but succumbed to his injuries during treatment at around 10 am, confirmed DSP Deepak Kumar Raya, spokesperson for the District Police Office.
