Sharat Singh Bhandari, Minister for Labour, Employment, and Social Security, raised some important issues that will benefit Nepali workers in the long run during a bilateral discussion with Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates.

Minister Bhandari stated that there was an in-depth discussion about moving forward with a pilot project to send Nepali female domestic workers to the UAE.

Similarly, stating that the UAE has recently developed as a study destination, he has urged the government to provide scholarships to Nepali students as well as necessary training equipment, including physical infrastructure, for the construction of training centres with the UAE government's support in order to produce skilled manpower.

According to Minister Bhandari, a proposal has been made to implement insurance for Nepali workers working in the UAE on a 24-hour basis. Similarly, Nepali workers have asked for a reduction in the high fees charged for sending money to Nepal via remittance.
