MAKAWANPUR, APRIL 17
At least 16 passengers were injured when a bus skidded off the road and plunged around 10 meters in Manahari Rural Municipality-6, Sunachuri, along the East-West Highway on today morning.
According to the District Police Office, the bus (Lu 2 Kha 599) was heading to Bhairahawa from Itahari when the accident occurred. The injured were rescued and sent to Chitwan Hospital for treatment, said police spokesperson Shyamu Aryal.
Police have taken the bus driver, Rakesh Chaudhary, 29, of Kolbi Municipality-11 in Bara, into custody for investigation.
