KATHMANDU, MAY 12
Nepalaya Publication has released acclaimed author Jeevan Kumar Prasain's fifth book, 'Kasto Cha Timilai', during a two-day book fair held on Saturday.
In a statement today, Nepalaya said the two-day event was inaugurated with the official unveiling of Prasain's new title at its premises, 'R' Sala,' in Kathmandu, where the book was formally launched after author and literary critic Anita Koirala was presented with a copy by Prasain himself.
Author Prasain shared that the inspiration behind the book arose from his observations of the unrelenting pace, disorder, anxiety, solitude, and melancholy that pervade contemporary life.
"Since my name is Jeevan-which means 'life'-it's only natural that my writing revolves around the essence of life," he stated. "Life is a precious gift, yet we burden it with needless stress," the statement quoted him as saying.
Prasain's earlier book, Jeevan Jiyune Kaida, published by Nepalaya a decade ago, remains a reader favorite and has recently gone into its ninth reprint.
In addition to this bestseller, Nepalaya has also published his other works, including Sadhai Tanneri, Baripari Nai Sarbopari, and Dherai Ko Dhapedi. A scientist and researcher by profession, Prasai brings a distinctive perspective to his literary endeavors, Nepalaya said in the statement.
The 231-page book is priced at NPR 575 and is available nationwide in bookstores, online via Thuprai.com, and internationally through Amazon, making it accessible to a global readership, stated in the statement.
