KATHMANDU, MAY 18
Sirbaz Khan has become the first Pakistani to have completed all 14 eight-thousanders without the use of supplementary oxygen.
According to Mingma G, Managing Director at Imagine Nepal Treks, Sirbaz stood atop Mt Kanchenjunga (8,586 m) at around 12;00 noon completing his last 8000er without using supplemental oxygen.
"Being part of the Imagine Nepal Kanchenjunga Expedition, Sirbaz climbed the world's third highest peak becoming the only Pakistani climber to have completed all 14 eight-thousanders without the use of supplementary oxygen," Mingma G said over phone from the base camp.
"An extraordinary determination and devotion of Sirbaz to climb all 14 peaks without oxygen or porters/sherpas is amazing," Mingma G shared
Sirbaz, hails from the Aliabad area of Hunza in Gilgit-Baltistan and began his climbing career in 2016. In 2019, he became the first Pakistani to summit Mount Lhotse, the world's fourth-highest mountain at 8,516m in Nepal, without the use of supplementary oxygen.
